If a dedicated host charges you twice ($1800) in a week due to a new billing system mistake. Causing your bank account to drop so low that a lot of other bills that come at the first of the month are declined because there is not enough money in the account. Do you think that they would be responsible for paying any bank fees and company fees that come from not having enough $$$ in the bank? If there was proof you would of had enough if they had not charged you twice.

Not only do I think they *should* . . . . I would hope they were honorable enough to offer.

I don't think legally they are required to pay, however, the right thing to do is to make you happy, and if that means paying your bank/late fees that is the honorable thing to do. If it was a $20 billing error, I probably wouldn't, maybe offer a free month of service, but $1800 is a considerable sum of money and can't be ignored.

Another avenue is to approach your bank or VISA/MasterCard and see what they can do to help you out. VISA and MasterCard can be quite helpful. When I say VISA or MasterCard, I do not mean your credit card company but the company themselves. They like their merchants to be honorable. :)

One friendly word of advice, if you are in business in any way, make sure you have a separate bank account. Yes the same thing can happen to your business account, but you don't sacrifice your personal credit or ability to eat. :)
