Can a cpanel server be configured to use non cpanel name servers?

We are not currently running any Cpanel servers, but I would like to try it out for a shared hosting server. I want to know if it will be able to configure its domains on our non cpanel dns servers?

Well Cpanel uses BIND which is a standard name server. What else would you like to use?

I think I may not have explained this as well as I thought.

I am going to only be running cpanel on 1 server. That server will be for virtual hosting only. I want the cpanel DNS functions to communicate with non-cpanel servers (running bind), when adding new domains, etc.

IE: I read that cpanel connects to other name servers using access hashes, but if my name server are not using cpanel, how can I make the cpanel server talk to it?
