Hi,
I'm just curious.
Are interserver.net servers inside vdi.net?
However they offer servers with CPanel4.
I thought VDI uses WebPanel and so does interserver.
Any clarification? Thanks.
PS:
I'm just worried if I put my server at vdi due
to the recent downtime.

I am with interserver and their new sales web page is a bit confusing to existing customers since we are all on Webpanel. We were told they would be changing to Cpanel but when we ask they say they are not sure they will be changing. It is not real clear and I can't get a good firm answer.
VDI did strike a deal with Darkorb to start selling Cpanel.
Due to the recent downtime and single threaded connectivity to the VDI NOC I will be making a change very soon. I just can't afford more down time.

How long have you been with VDI and how much down time have you experienced? You may contact me in private (pm/email) if you wish (since it's OOT on this thread anyway).
To anto (do I know you? :D), yes ... interservre is with VDI and they are planning to offer CPanel4 instead of WebPanel ... not sure when they will start upgrading their current's customer's webpanel, but I think (CMIIW) for new customers, they will start using CPanel4 ...
cheers,

interserver co-locate at vdi.
anyway, it looks like it was not vdi fault in recent downtime. they said it was verizion who was in fault. this is rear problem i guess and haven't seen anything like this from vdi since long time.
so its fine. also interserver is very good in support. i have some servers with them.

But then ... they have 2OC3 and 2DS3 from several different providers .. so what happened to VDI's BGP4 setup?

It would appear that the last miles of access between Verizon and VDI is all riding on 1 fiber cable (single point of failure). With a data center of this size I would have suspected they might have had a 2nd access circuit from an alternate access provider. Right now it looks like Verizon breaks it out in their CO to delivers it to the multiple ISP's.
That would be my unofficial view on their configuration.
