Are you looking for 3rd party billing and shopping carts, merchant accounts, shopping carts, or combinations of these?

You could try software like Actinic Catalog. I personaly use it and its quite flexible and you should be able to put together sites in hours. Pop along to www.actinic.co.uk for more detials. It may be worth your while try the free 30day trial to test the software.

The best (free) shopping cart is Redhat Interchange. Look at the demo they have... http://demo.ic.redhat.com/cgi-bin/ic2

You can download this software for free and many hosts offer this cart in their package. Now beware:( Interchange does not come with much documentation so learning how to customize and make changes is NOT easy. It will take you awhile but you will discover that this program is fantastic.

If you're building an e-commece site for a client IMO you're short changing the client if you use a 3rd party free system.

Naturally much also depends on the specifics of the client but people do notice it when the selling side of your site doesn't look and feel the same as the rest of your site. Plus as the developer using a 3rd party you generally loose customization control the client may want.
