I have a reseller account using CPanel. What I have noticed is this, when my clients access their web site using this method :

http://reseller-domain.com/~cleint1-ID

the bandwidth usage is being registered under reseller-domain.com account !!! My questions are :

1. Is this correct or is there something wrong with the setup ???
2. Is there a way that I can stop the client from accessing their content through the above method ?

Thanks in advance for any help....

yes its normal

to prevent this you need to turn off /~username access in cpanel security options.

if you dont have this option in your whm ask your host to do it for you.

I don't think it's measured one way or the other, but I could be wrong.

Webmail shouldn't be a HUGE resource hog anyway...

If I disable the access through /~client then I am also disabling the access for the shared SSL cert !!!!!

I would update the TOS to say something like,
Any client who attempts to leech bandwidth by using http://domain/~user over "INSERT MEGABYTES HERE" Will be charged for bandwidth at double the bandwidth price. Or put what ever your results will be. Eg account termination...
Just an idea :)

I wish CPanel will introduce this feature through WHM for resellers automation feraure, where we would be able to enable/disable for each client...
