What credit card service do you recommend?

We use http://www.2checkout.com

We recommend them - we have had no problems, and all questions we asked are responded to pretty quickly by their staff...

We use goemerchant.com, they even have a nice API with simple examples in CGI and ASP for people new to it. Their staff is there almost every hour of the day, they are very professional... they have limits on your monthly charges and max ticket prices, but if you show them the proper information, they allow you to remove the limits.

Nova Merchant Services, prob one of the largest merchants out there...very cheap rates

Are you looking for a merchant account or a third party processor?

With 2checkout.com who appears as the biller when a customer sees his statement? Has anyone ever had any problems with 2checkout.com? Any catches that they found out later? Does anybody suggest someone better than 2checkout.com?

So far so good, and 2checkout would appear as it isn't a full merchant solution. To get your name on it, you'd have to have the merchant account in your name.

So with 2checkout.com I would have to get a merchant account for the name to appear as my business. However on revcom it appears as your business after the first month right? If you need a merchant account were is the best place?

With revecom it shows up as paysystems.com on the bill.

I don't think that you can get your name on the bill with out having a merchant account.

You need a merchant account to have your name on the cc statement.

any 3rd party processor similar to 2checkout.com or Revecom that does not charge the $49 setup fee?

although i should mention i have no experience with them, i use 2checkout and apart from a little 'less' featured control panel everything is just a breeze.

So where would be the best place to go get a real merchant account so your name can appear on the CC statement?

Have had really good success with them, we used them and also recommend them higly. Mention our name please :) we need to eat. They work directly with authorize net, our cost is about $25 a month not bad if you ask me. Approval is like 24-48 hours then setup is about two days after that.

i have to disagree with the billing descriptor part. its more than possible to have your name appear next to the name of the thirdparty processor. it just depends on the payment gateway and the msp.

The problem I find with all of these is extra charges. For example say the person goes over the bandwidth allowment and you have to charge them for 3GB. How do you do this? Where is the best place to go to get your own merchant account?

not nesscarily ... a thirdparty processoer can easily be used to bill your clients. like an invoice payment or invoice sending tool.

But they both cap your income around $15K so if you earn more you want get it all.

These are merchant services providers. Keep in mind:

- you need to be incorporatedc
- must be willing to cough up upto $500 cash :)
- be willing to wait a few weeks or a month
- be willing to pay monthlies

Seems good, now they added $9 setup fee. But still good.

Also the customers gets your e-mail address like sales@buisness.com in ther CC statement.

I like it. And you can charge your customers whatever you want from here and gives you ALOT of flexibility.
