I bought it today, mint flavour and it tastes awful :(. Yeah, there's orange flavour but my country just recently allowed this "special" chewing gums to be on sale in the Pharmacy, so there isn't orange here. Anyone tried this? I personally tried and until now, I still can't be sure if my craving will still occur later.

Read more on this gum here:

Hello,

My sister is quitting smoking, smoked since 13, now 27, she uses the patches, that go on you're arm, and hasn't stopped smoking but cut down a lot. Are the patches available in your country? Check with your doctor ...

I'm not sure if I ever heard of any patches here but I can bet that most Singaporean (which I am) mostly preferred something "convenience". That is the reason why I've been to 3 pharmacy till I eventually bought it because all others have run out of stocks.

She needs to choose between one or the other. Smoking and wearing the patch at the same time can get her sick.

Well, as I posted last week on here, I have quit smoking, the funny thing is, 2 days later I was in hospital with a spontaneous pneumothorax, apparently not caused by smoking, but certainly not helped.

I just got home last night, after having a tube inserted into my side for 4 days draining leaked fluid out. No, I haven't even looked at a cigarette, and don't intend to.. funny how things turn out, first I wanted to quit, now I have to, which kind of helps.

If you want to quit, I could show you photo's of the tube that was sticking out of my side? That would help you quit in a heartbeat :D

IHSL please could you send me the photo? Might help my sister, the lungs stuff doesn't help, but maybe a photo of what it looks like externally might. Thanks

I'm not sure I want it in public, but when we get them developed, i will send it to you via PM, for the sake of your campaign with your sister.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not against smoking (it's a free world), I just think that if you want to quit (genuinely), there's several methods to do so, that will have higher impact than a stick of gum, or a patch.

Simon: What is pneumothorax? How did you end up this way?

And damn, I'm already on my forth to fifth stick of cigarette. Cannot be sure if this gum is useless, but the taste is certainly awful (its tasteless but mint) This thing is discouraging me from taking them rather than smoking :(

It might help if there's something to stop my craving for coffee as well, once I have a sip of coffee, I'll reach for a cigg. Hate this weak point :bawling:

Basically, it's when your lung leaks, causing a semi-collapse of the lung, and it seperates from the chestal cavity. Very painful, and not very pleasant during fix period either.

They stick a tube in your side, and try and force the lung to state inflating properly again. The tube is attached to a very clumsy looking piece of equipment that drains any extra fluid out of you.

I'm not sure how I got it, because they just said spontaneous, but they did say the smaller guys are more prone to it (i'm 5ft7, 160 lbs).

:puke: Hope you get well soon.

You guys talk about the patch, how does it looks like? Wear it around arm and it can stop you from smoking? :S
