First off - my experience has been with MS Server OSs and I am making a dash for Linux.

I just loaded Redhat 7.1 and thought Apache would function right from the get go! I am trying to get a CGI script to run. I have modified the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file to enable CGI scripts.

Is there a beginners setup guide (tutorial) for Apache configuration. I have been to www.apache.org and www.redhat.com. "Linux for Dummies" might be in order here.

Thanks,

Sully

Is perl installed?

I believe it installed with the Redhat. Yes, I have /usr/bin/perl. Is there any additional configuration required for Perl?

Thanks,
Sully

Being from the MS world where you had to continuously reboot after making changes - how often does Linux have to be rebooted after changes are made?
