If it was with a credit card you can do a charge back.
Contact your credit card company.

You might also want to check the policy or terms of service of the host. Mabye he had the right to do it?

Maybe you should contact the host. It may be just an error they can refund quickly for you.

That doesn't matter. If it was a mistake and can be fixed in 5 minutes, I don't think any host should be posted here. That was not part of the question.

If we knew the name, someone else could try and contact them and, possibly verify that they indeed are experiencing difficulties receiving emails and phone calls.

I had a similar problem with a US hosting company. At least they didn't charge me after termination of my account. But I still got "over due invoices" for about 2 months after I canceled my contract with them.

well I had the same problem with tera-byte in the last days.
Allthough they are a good company they tried to charge my CC after 3-4 months over my cancellation. As a luck my CC is a virtual card meaning does not work without I put money so they could not charge it.
It's so funny cause I could have a 3-4 months free hosting after the sign up if I have not canceled my account :D

Where did he ever say that the host doesn't respond to any form of communication?
