Derrick 03-19-2004, 03:12 PM I work about 10 hours a day. I take a lot of small breaks so I do not go crazy.
If i start to get stressed out I go to my home gym and lift weights for a while.
If I am at the office I step out and chat with people about something not work related.
Derrick
Bashar 03-19-2004, 03:24 PM 16 - 18hrs a day and almost 4hrs on weekends.

Mekhu 03-19-2004, 03:28 PM Work maybe a total of 6 hours a day. Although I'm on this damn machine more then that, I tend to take a lot of "timeouts" to keep things in perspective.
okihost 03-19-2004, 03:30 PM You mean we are supposed to go home?

sasha 03-20-2004, 12:38 AM I spent 12 -15 hours sitting here, but real work in probably not much more then 12 hours
Patrick 03-20-2004, 12:44 AM Way too many. :D
Acroplex 03-20-2004, 12:44 AM Max 24 hours a day :D
2Grumpy 03-20-2004, 01:10 AM It's hard to time really, I get up around noon, get on my computer and "do stuff" until I go to bed around 4am, but I'm not "working" all that time for sure, maybe 10 hours most days? I sit in my chair and watch DVD's or TiVo (family room is my office so I have my computer and 57" TV and stereo and stuff in here). So it's "working" but not working :)

dearhosting 03-22-2004, 03:34 PM 15 hours/day
Sticks 03-22-2004, 04:38 PM 0 to 72 hours.
Whenever I feel like I should go outside and have fun I go outside , stay with my friends , go outside with my gf , take a ride by car and stuff like that.
But whenever I feel like I should work it sometimes takes up to 72 hours of work. Of course after working so hard I sometimes hallucinate :D
A regular day (or week) :
Wake up at 08:00 am and go to school (10 am lesson begins).
Come back home at about 15:00 or 17:00 .
Work until the midnight (12 to 03 am)
Sleep about 04 - 05 am
Can't wake up and miss the class. (wake up time : 13:00) :P
Have some breakfast at 14 pm
Work until the night (about 11 pm)
And repeat the listed things (wake up at 09:00 am)
:D
sid007 03-22-2004, 06:14 PM 10 - 14 hours a day Su - Mo :(
stripeyteapot 03-22-2004, 06:18 PM Right now, approximately 8 hours per day. Not bad at all :)
ianswenson 03-22-2004, 06:41 PM 40 hours on my full time job, then another 20 hours a week at least doing various side projects.
WirralNet Matt 03-22-2004, 06:59 PM It varies a lot, usually about 14 hours day. Although when I say work, its usually just browsing the internet and awaiting support emails/MSN/tickets :)
What is this thing you call work, url?
X-Max 03-22-2004, 08:42 PM i work about 12 hours a day since the day i broke with my girl friend(s).
oonth 03-22-2004, 08:58 PM Taking into account school...
Weekends/Holidays: 16-18 hours
"Normal" Days: 10 hours
Might appear a little abnormal for someone in high school, but I guess I hardly look at it as a "job" when you are doing something you enjoy...which is certainly the case with me:)
Adam Clement 03-22-2004, 09:33 PM I think most of you guys are overworked :D I work a maximum of 10 hours a day, never more than that.
theqase 03-22-2004, 10:14 PM i work about 14 hours a day... and get paid for 8 hours a day...
aatayyab 03-23-2004, 09:59 AM Hi,
Since it is a very interesting question, hence I would answer it honestly which might be a SHOCKING one to my western readers.
I work only 2 hours per week normally and whenever I get any technical writing or e-marketing assignment on an average of one assignment quarterly, I try to finish it within 2 days and then rest for the reamining 3 months waiting for the funds to evaporate in air. When totally bankrupt, I get back to work and spend around 8 hours only to get the assignment that I am looking for. I am sure whenever any such busy professional reads my post, he/she will be surprised. But I wanted to be honest and straight-foward here. Since 1988, I have had never that much work as the normal westerns do. And by the way, there is no concept of Social Welfare in Pakistan and I have successfully survived amongst the so-many economic suiciders or those who start selling toothpastes instead of software.
You must be wondering what do I do during the idle time of 99%??? well, I love to sleep, watch movies, maintain world's largest Urdu islamic website www.qurango.com, and watch/conversate with different types of humans around me and over internet.
I live in Pakistan where a married person with a two childern living in a rented home can easily survive within 300$ per month. And BTW, I don't get paid for the 50% of the work I do for my local clients in Pakistan. They are worst in payments, especially those from Punjab area of Pakistan. If one needs any advice before doing any business with any such Lahore/Punjab based firm/individual, ask me.
And during 16 years of my professional life, none of my US or European clients defaulted my payment. That is great and I feel strongly that unknowingly European/American professionals and businessmen are following golden principles of Islam such as truth, honesty, and hard work.
Hope it was not SHOCKING enough for those surviving on government social welfare ;)
TheDoctor 03-23-2004, 10:24 AM Work what's that? .. sounds like some American concept. Gee haven't you people heard of Socail Security.
Doc
The odd few that do work in my society work a 36hr week and the workaholics do a 40 hr week.
Hello&Co 03-23-2004, 10:47 AM 10+ hours a day
ksstudio 03-23-2004, 10:49 AM life = work + eat + sleep?

I know exactly what you mean!
:D :D
Although I only average 85-95 hours a week now, I used to pull 130ish per week for about 2 years straight.
Alex042 03-28-2004, 07:23 PM My schedule is usually 5:30am-3:30pm web development for a specific client, 3:30pm-12:30am web hosting and the remainder of the biz so I guess thats about 19hrs/day on avg. I get a break on weekends because I get to sleep in until almost noon but then work from noon to midnight sat and sunday also so I only work 12hr days on weekends. So I guess thats about 120hrs/wk.
I've been doing this schedule for the last year, in fact, since I started the biz back in april of last year.
jasonlambert 03-28-2004, 07:42 PM Mon-Sat:
9 hours a day working "normal" Day job
2 hours wasted travelling to/from work
3 hours working on my sites
Sun:
9 hours working on my sites.
I would hate to sum up the amount of time wasted over the week on things like sleeping and eating. :bawling:
thunder 03-28-2004, 08:08 PM From 0 to 12 hours :)
I run my own business so it really depends on the mood and work to be done.
subigo 03-29-2004, 02:09 AM Maybe 12 hours a week :P
alvinks 03-29-2004, 04:52 PM It is not about the amount of hours you work, but how much work you get done in a day. I know people that technically work 10 hours, but the actual work amounts to 3-4 hours.
xe0net 03-29-2004, 05:57 PM whats work ... all i seem to do is work,,, i've had my fair few share of 14-16 hours shifts.... keeps the money coming in!
