Seriously, has anyone ever successfully snapped a domain name with the godaddy snapping service? I am 0 for 4 now and it seems like the whole thing was a waste of money.

I am 0 for 4 now and it seems like the whole thing was a waste of money. eSology 03-18-2004, 05:42 PM I bought four several months ago and to date I have not caught one. About 20 failed attempts and counting. What a waste! Bashar 03-18-2004, 07:52 PM it was 8 of 10 almost a year ago but not its like 0 to 10 as you mentioned. pool.com is the way togo and sometimes snapnames catches few RMF 03-18-2004, 08:15 PM godaddy is a waste of time and money. saluyot 03-18-2004, 08:20 PM Originally posted by RMF godaddy is a waste of time and money. you're right. their services suck especially on international customers. dsotmoon 03-18-2004, 08:46 PM I have caught 2 recently with godaddy but I missed about 10 before those two, with pool I have got one and missed one, pool is more expensive but worth it if you really want the domain KIWI_TECH 03-19-2004, 01:36 AM missed once then I got impatient contacted the person now hes re-registerd for 5 years!! duh duh bad kiwi!! brianlim 03-19-2004, 05:18 AM So far, I have read from several forums before. Mostly, from what I see. ALL good domains cannot be caught by goDaddy. Maybe they were very very slow. Unless the names you wanted are not monitior by other snapback services. Something like.. hmm... www.fsahyhswk.com ;) Anyway, my point of view. If that's a very good domain, don't use goDaddy. They will never get it. Save the money & get yourself a pizza and a coke. It's more worth it. :) bjseiler 03-19-2004, 10:22 AM .....and whatever service buydomains.com uses, it works. Of the 4 I have lost, they won three of them! With this consistent lack of success, I am wondering if godaddy even uses a "snapping" technology. It appears to me their snapping service just means they check once a day (heck, I can do that!) Bashar 03-19-2004, 10:30 AM buydomains uses their own system with connection to many registrars, thats why they win most of the good names. Acroplex 03-19-2004, 11:44 AM NoDaddy! :D dmaven 03-19-2004, 11:50 AM I think buydomains purchased and extended a system they use for snapping(maybe snapnames). shasta 03-20-2004, 05:23 AM I got suckered into buying the godaddy snap. Out of nearly 6 attempts, nothing. Everyone beats them. Even my not-so fast fingers beat them. Seriously. I had a godaddy snap in place and my manual registristration beat them! The thing I dislike the most about Godaddy is all of their spamming ads they send to your mail box. When I ask them to stop, they say sorry. "You get these wonderful announcements as part of our service". I wasted my money. But I should have known better. Shasta PlenoJure 03-20-2004, 06:01 AM I really wonder how hard it would be to develop one of these systems, based on everything I've read it seems to be fairly simple software. And based on these numbers, beating GoDaddy should be very simple. Perhaps this would be worth pursuing. RMF 03-20-2004, 06:12 AM Tomorrow is another day to see how many more failed attempts godaddy can provide me. No wonder godaddy is against WLS. They get to sell all these backorders, and they don't even have to try to be successful with them! RMF |
