I've been monitoring a domain name, it was due to expire on 17 aug 2001, but its still showing up as registered, a monitoring service I use shows there were recent changes to the record, but the expiry date still shows the same.

Anyone any ideas why its still showing as registered?

I suspected as much.

Are they stilll up to holding dropped domain names?

I thought it was a temporary hold until they found a way of avoiding the system being jammed by lookup enquiries from companies that specialise in grabbing dropped names first.

I've been monitoring it for several weeks too. I wonder who will get it when/if it finally becomes available. ;)

(If anybody else knows the domain please do not post it.)

PM me with it if were talking about the same one and tell me why youre after it, I'm not especially bothered about getting it, its the reason that counts for me.

If it's a good one I have a feeling Network Solutions will buy it, as I heard they have started doing. Gotta love competition. ;)

Yeah, I heard netsol are re-registering themselves as the owners of certain dropped names and putting them up for resale or auction at elevated prices, or something to that effect.

As if it wasnt hard enough to get a good .com these days!
