View Full Version : Hosting 80,000 and still no reviews
Ironlung 10-13-2000, 11:31 AM I was looking around http://www.hostsearch.com and tried to see what bad things had been posted about *****.com and to my suprise Hostsearch said that there was no reviews for this company. I mean dont you think out of 80000 cleints that someone would have posted something good or bad at hostsearch. Seems Fishy to me.
Hmmm, I imagine ***** pays them, to not put up the reviews.
webfors 10-13-2000, 02:14 PM Yep,
sounds "fishy" to me. Not one reviews of *****. Hmmmm....

Chicken 10-13-2000, 02:28 PM That is quite incredible. No reviews, eh? Nahhhh, nothing fishy there... makes perfect sense.
Bogdan 10-13-2000, 02:40 PM Heh... or maybe they don't have 80,000 clients. ;)
Duster 10-13-2000, 05:13 PM There are lies of commission and lies of omission. Although generally more subtle, you can lie by leaving something out just as much as overtly stating something as true that isn't.
Then again, maybe Host Search feels that if you can't say something nice about a company, you shouldn't say anything at all.
he heh he heh he heh he heh
KDAWebServices 10-13-2000, 07:05 PM Maybe hostsearch.com thinks that if you can't say anything nice then you shouldn't damage their bank balance :)
LOL LOL
Of course, the proof in the pudding is the no. of continuing complaints around of ***** and the legal case that's still going on. Ridiculous, ain't it...
jonelin 10-13-2000, 09:14 PM try going to deja.com and do a search in the newsgroups there. just type in *****. hope you have some free time to read. ;)
Sesran 10-14-2000, 12:34 AM I posted a review for a host that was bad on Hostsearch and it was never put up. I consider that site a scam cause the host I gave a bad review for also has allot of advertising on the the reveiw site.
Duster 10-14-2000, 01:08 AM That could be a handy resource. Imagine, a host search forum where only the good hosts were listed, and there would be no advertising because the bad ones would pay not to be listed. Wow, what a novel concept.
he heh he heh he heh he heh
rbkaren 10-14-2000, 03:57 PM well if you want to know about ***** I can tell you that I am one of the so called 80,000 hostees. I am very unhappy with them. When I joined them in Nov 99 they were rated as being one of top hosting sites. I was looking for a lot of room because I didnt know how large a site I needed and they were offering quite a bit at a reasonable rate. They do have all kinds of goodies that are available to you but so do others now. Customer service ...huh!!!! that has to be the biggest joke. More than once I was on hold trying to reach someone for over 20 minutes. Which by the way I have never talked to a person on the phone at all. There have been a few occassions that I wrote emails that were eventually returned but that usually took a few days. So if customer support is an issue and you dont know how to do things on your own then dont go there.
On the upside... my site has only been down once that I remember but that was for less than 24 hours.
If you do decide to go there... they offer incentives but you must know that you must keep onto them about whatever it is...I still have not received my incentive and am tired of even messing with it.
I am in the process now of looking for another host...havent decided on one yet but if anyone has any ideas I could use them.
You know the funny is I was trying to find reviews on ***** and only found one so far...they are definitely few and far between...hmmm maybe there is a coverup...lol
Sorry guess a little long winded but I wanted to add my 2 cents.
Have a good one

webfors 10-14-2000, 04:06 PM How could any company have the proper resources to support 80,000 clients. I find that number heavily inflated.
jtan15 10-14-2000, 06:53 PM Yeah, unfortunately ***** commenly gets rated as one of the best hosts in the market because they pay the best $$$. It's really unfortunate. Does anyone know of a good, unbiased, search for hosts web site?
-Edward- 10-14-2000, 06:54 PM I'm making one if that counts :-).
