How can this be done? I have multiple IPs. It seems kind of silly to only be able to share one of those IPs. I know it can be done, but how? I want to spread all my sites over my full ip range.

HA-Tina 03-17-2004, 05:20 PM You can set an account as reseller, deleguate a shared IP for that reseller and move the ownership of other accounts under that reseller's username. Hope that helps. BootsSiR 03-17-2004, 05:25 PM hmm, any other way to do it ? BootsSiR 03-17-2004, 05:43 PM I setup a reseller account. Did the trick :) thanks! BootsSiR 03-18-2004, 11:42 AM interesting dilemma after doing this all the accounts under the reseller account resolve to the main account... I've searched all over the cpanel forums and found many people with this issue, but no solutions... any ideas? HA-Tina 03-18-2004, 12:12 PM It resolves to root account or reseller main account, please specify ? Also, did you assign a shared IP for that reseller main account ? BootsSiR 03-18-2004, 02:02 PM it resolves to the resellers main account... and yes the resellers account has a shared ip assigned... HA-Tina 03-18-2004, 02:30 PM you can "Change Ownership of an account" as root or as this reseller account. Shared IP of the account will be changed also. Is it what you are looking to do ? Regards, BootsSiR 03-18-2004, 02:52 PM both sites are under the resellers shared ip both sites resolve to the resellers main site BootsSiR 03-18-2004, 11:10 PM bump :D HA-Tina 03-18-2004, 11:13 PM lol you need 24-48 hrs for propagation period after creating the account. BootsSiR 03-19-2004, 08:26 AM Well that seems odd... all the domains resolve to their proper ip addresses ... I'm thinking this is a server side issue, not DNS lbeachmike 08-17-2007, 10:30 PM Hey - Can the same thing be accomplished by simply manually editing the DNS records? If on a different shared IP, mail will be sent from that IP, and not from the main server shared IP, correct? Thanks. Mike othellotech 08-18-2007, 09:28 AM If on a different shared IP, mail will be sent from that IP, and not from the main server shared IP, correct? No. Mail will be sent from the server's IP. Largely this is a completely pointless exercise, it has no impact on anything, and is just a waste of yet more ipv4 resources lbeachmike 08-18-2007, 10:39 AM Okay - yes, I now see that it is indeed pointless. Can you help point me in the right direction as to how I may change the outgoing mail-server's IP without changing the main shared IP for all accounts? othellotech 08-18-2007, 10:41 AM Can you help point me in the right direction as to how I may change the outgoing mail-server's IP without changing the main shared IP for all accounts? Simple - you cant. 123anddone 12-13-2009, 08:53 AM Does this multiple ip's method works ? i have did the reseller method but don't see nay changes in IP when i list all accounts. mystycs 10-17-2011, 11:04 PM Wait so i have to literally create a reseller account and always login to it if i wish to make a change? |
