I am really interested in starting a web hosting reseller business. However it seems everytime I find a company that seems good I always find out to be terrible through reveiws and the such. I have not spent any money as of yet thanks to the excellent advice.

My main question is can anyone recommend a webhosting company to sign up with that offers reliable service and support? I would prefer them not to be a reseller of someone else but I am willing to give anyone a shot at this point. You can email me at phiroof@msn.com to eliminate any problems with advertising on the forums.

I am quite concerned about getting poor performance because I have potential customers already and would like to be able to stand behind what I say. However this solely relies on the service I receive from any potential hosting company.

Are dedicate servers a way around this? Or is it better to buy my own server(s) and backbone? I am starting with a limited amount of money but I dont want to lose customers due to poor customer support and server performance.

Thanks for the help.

Like a regular hosting account, chosing a dedicated server company is just as important. Your uptime and reliability will almost always depend on the decision to chose a provider.

Yes, having a dedicated server will most definitely allow you more control, but it's also more work and you have to be prepared for that. Are you confident in administrating your own server? If not, start studying and you'll soon find it's not a hard as you intitially thought.

As for recommendations for resellers? I don't have any. For dedicated server I would look into:

http://dialtoneinternet.com (my provider)
http://catalog.com
http://ultraspeedusa.com
http://rackspace.com
http://datapipe.com
http://tera-byte.com

There are many more good dedicated server companies out there.

http://www.cheapservers.net can be added to the above list too.

Well then add http://www.skynetweb.com/ to the list.

These two statements don't seem to go together. You can check resellerinfo.com and recellar.com for additional advice and contacts (people who are doing this already).

Limited money doesn't go good with buying servers and colocating. Unless you get cheap hardware and service, therefore looking for a headache.
