hello,
I have to launch another server(s) to fit my new customers,
i have 2 choices .
1. buy 2 servers each single PIII 1000Ghz + 512 RAM
the two servers cost $600/mo
2. buy 1 server Dual PIII 1000Ghz + 1Gb RAM
cost $450/mo
all other options are the same in the 2 boxs
in your openion which of them will be more cost efficient
in other words which can hold more sites in lower cost?

Somethings to consider.
One server advantages
It costs less per month
Faster machine
Negitives
If the server goes down, you will have more customers that are without service.

hello again
i get 120Gb for the 2 servers and 100Gb for the single server ..
but you can assume the both is the same .. the most important is
the server load .. number of sites .. most of users never made
50Mb/mo

thanks LinuxGroup
i know that .. but i ask about cost .... if two servers host 1000 sites and the single will host 600 (numbers for example) then 2 servers will be lower cost even if i pay $100 more .. get me ?

let it more easy ...
2 servers cost more %25 than the single server ..

If you dont have much domains to host then start with one server cos prices of servers are coming down everyday.
:D

I would look at the cost/customer point of view. If your customer can afford it then place him on his own server.
There is nothing worst than one server taking down several sites when your customer thinks he is getting a dedicated solution. At the price range you are talking about the customer definately has the money so set them up seperately.

can you please answer my question by YES or NO only ..
and i will take care about other points
i'll pay %25 more in the 2 servers than the single server .. so
CAN I HOST %25 MORE SITES IN 2 SERVERS THAN SINGLE BOX?

Yes - typically. But it depends on the size of the site, how much of the server resources are being used by the site's cgi and shtml. If all the site are small and not expected to grow then the answer is yes.
