Move this to the apporiate forum if its incorrectly placed

Hello

I want to make a poster based on something like this:

http://us.ent4.yimg.com/movies.yahoo.com/images/hv/photo/movie_pix/walt_disney/the_haunted_mansion/thehauntedmansion_poster.jpg

What tools would you guys use, etc.

RIght now I am thinking I will have to draw the fences in illustrator, add some stuff in photosohip, as well as the mist in the background.

But I am thinking there might be better ways tools out there to make similar designs -

So can anyone share with me some ideas or point me to some people who can make something comparable for a not so comparable price lol

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

what you have suggested sounds about right. Looks pretty complex though, might be a little hard to do, it all depends on your Photoshop / Illustrator skills....

You should better post this thread in some graphics forum like one at http://www.yaxay.com/.

Best Regards :)

Agreed, that looks like a pretty insane picture but I really can't see the details of it. You should probably be able to do it in those two programs with some work. I would recommend Maya for 3D, but for one picture it doesn't seem worth the price :D

Just trace the whole thing with Corel Trace or the trace option in your graphics program :D

You don't need any 3d programs, Photoshop will do it all. Use a stock photo for the gate, the house in the bg, the trees on the left, maybe the moon and clouds at the very top. And airbrush the fog.

The middle part on the gate you could make using shapes/pen tool with layer styles and some texture work.
