You can just use the domain for smtp, you do not need anything in front of it, but it must be your domain. Then make sure you use your regular username(no @domain.com after it) then password. Also make sure authorization is set to on.

It should also function for customer domains, right?

Ok, tried it but I get this message when doing a test.

Server was found but there was no response from the mail server.

Settings as follows:

Smtp: raajmenon.com
Used the authentication with the user name raaj and pw same as mail.

So any other suggestions?

In plesk the authentication is turned on and SMTP is checked.

try mail.domain.com and change the lockout time to 60.

Are you not able to send mail via SMTP?

Or, you just want to know the setting?

POP3 and SMTP should be the domain name ( e.g. yahoo.com)

I had that problem. I changed my timeout to about 5 min(2 min would also work) and it works. Now it has been working right away, but for a few weeks, it took a min or two to send mail. The problem is with dns lookups.
