Another note, It had goning for 30 mins before I had to do something and stopped it, so It WAS worse :)

I defrag every week - its good practice to get into :)

Yeah, when I tried to defragment on winxp, it let the HDD grind like crazy. I was watching (or hearing) for like ten minutes before I stopped. Maybe it's a bug. But the defragment worked ok on the addtional HDD. (only didn't work on the main HDD where windows was installed.)

I only defrag when windows is installed.... and those installs get whiped and replaced far to often, to defraging.

The only time I was into defragging is when I had a new PC.....

i will try defrag my 2k system. i just installed 10 days before.
