Are dot cc domains worth anything?

seen good names sold for high amounts check afternic.com CUP.cc is currently @ $400

in the old days they had flat rate for all names, buyt since verisign bought them they have different prices depending on the quality of the domain.

beauty.cc was sold for $1,000,000 usd :D

haven't really seen any substantial sales, beauty.cc was a fraud.

how come all news talk about it even nic.cc themselves?

I have not seen much activity with .cc, stay with .com

.cc could be a nice extra for .com if it weren't so expensive. Though from all the ccTLD's, .TV is the only one that can really be as valuable as .com
At least that's my opinion :)

It was a pump sale between related parties designed to increase registration volumes. I doubt also that the buyer would let drop a name which they supposedly paid $1 milion for (dropped in Oct 2003)

It's was just a promotion trick between 2 companies marketing & promotion .CC domains.
Actually, there wasn't any cash took place. :)
Secondly, it was a scam between a brother & sister companies to promote .CC to make it sell HOT.

Lastly, the previous owner of beauty.cc was actually Universal Domains. Which was a domain broker too.
Hmmm... domain brokers was suppose to make money through sale of domain. Not buying domains for $1m. Fishy.

Also, they insist to develop beauty.cc to a huge site.
Just check at archive.org, beauty.cc has nothing back since the beginning. Just a parking page.:stickout:

So do you know what the companies promoting .CC are smoking of? ;)
