.cc could be a nice extra for .com if it weren't so expensive. Though from all the ccTLD's, .TV is the only one that can really be as valuable as .com
At least that's my opinion :)

It was a pump sale between related parties designed to increase registration volumes. I doubt also that the buyer would let drop a name which they supposedly paid $1 milion for (dropped in Oct 2003)

have a look at beauty.cc itself and you will see one of the linked articles talks about it (quite a bit on google also)

"But a review of public documents and interviews with participants raises many questions about this deal (to which Cartmell was not a direct party), suggesting it may be less of a marketing triumph than an overvalued publicity gambit by closely allied parties with a mutual interest in pumping up the value of the .cc domain.

For example, though the press release announcing the deal stated that “beauty.cc” was purchased “for $1 million dollars,” that is not the case. Alan Brown, president of Universal Domains Inc., which bought “beauty.cc,” says in an interview that only $200,000 in cash was paid. The rest of the purchase was made in shares of Universal’s very thinly traded OTC (“over the counter”) stock — which, experts say, was valued with unusual generosity.

In addition, there are some indications that the selling company, David Sams Industries, an infomercial producer and major marketer of .cc names, may have already had a significant stake in Universal before this deal."

Yes, that's true. ;)
It's was just a promotion trick between 2 companies marketing & promotion .CC domains.
Actually, there wasn't any cash took place. :)
Secondly, it was a scam between a brother & sister companies to promote .CC to make it sell HOT.

Lastly, the previous owner of beauty.cc was actually Universal Domains. Which was a domain broker too.
Hmmm... domain brokers was suppose to make money through sale of domain. Not buying domains for $1m. Fishy.

Also, they insist to develop beauty.cc to a huge site.
Just check at archive.org, beauty.cc has nothing back since the beginning. Just a parking page.:stickout:

So do you know what the companies promoting .CC are smoking of? ;)
Everyone saw their trick.
