A CTR of 5 is considered excellent according to the masses (who they are, I don't know, but I retain a lot of what I read). If you are using banner exchange, CTR of .8 is not terrible, but snazz up that banner and you might get more. inwks 10-13-2000, 03:58 AM I remember reading the other day that banner click thrus was down to about 0.5% as an industry average. My last banner campaign managed to get a CTR of 0.1%! :( JustinK 10-13-2000, 05:18 PM I think more and more people just get used to ignoring the banners. When they go to a site, they arn't usually there to click and go off somewhere else. I think I've clicked on about 20 banners total the entire time I have had the internet. Most of those are by accident. The ones that seem to work more now are those square ads and the little button ones. Bogdan 10-14-2000, 06:35 AM We usually get CTR of 3%-5% on banners and 125x125 buttons. Little buttons never worked for us, it was always about .5%-.7% CTR is usually high with targeted audience. I think direct links is the best way to advertise, because people read content, and do not pay attention to banners etc.. |
