I have been with Superb.net for over a year now using thier UFVP account. Its a UNIX shared account, and preforms well for my current uses.

In that time, I have had only one problem, and it dealt with the President H. Jass. After several emails, about billing, I finally saw what I see so many others posting about on several websites. My problem was that the billing has never been close to correct with them. They add things that I had taken off, they forget to add things. I even was billed for two FTP accounts, that when asked, they could provide no record for, or even tell me what the log-ins were. The problem was moved up to H. Jass, and it only got worse. After a small flame war, which I will claim 50% of the responsibility for, I was told that if I have any further problems, I will be charged $90/h for talking to them. For trying to get a bill straightened out! My bill was small, only about $480, but the bill itself was not even close to correct. My primary account had 100MB of space. When they add FTP accounts to it, they take away some of that space. So I actually had only 70MB, and they gave 30MB to my other FTP log in. Which then went over as was something like 50MB. I was charged for that extra 20MB, even though my main account, was using only 30MB of the 70MB it had alloted, so I was not over my limit, but they couldnt figure that out. They were extremely arrogant, and very very rude with me and any of my employees that called to get this solved.

Well, it appears I played the part of the fool and signed up for the SPS (Superb Power Server) service about 2 months ago, and 6 months after all that. God what a mistake that was.

The support staff ran about 72 hours or more to get back to me. There is no SMTP server for my sites. And to tell you the truth, I got the very distinct impression that everytime I asked a question, I was waiting on someone to look something up.

They rarely read my question. I was brushed off onto the website more than once, and the Forums they never check. They often thought I was just a normal UNIX account and answered the question if that were true. Which then resulted in me asking again and again trying to get someone to actually take 5 seconds to see that i was not a UNIX customer. THey could only answer one question per email. I would often send a few questions outlined with bullets in an email and for some reason the first one was the only one they ever answered. I had 6 emails that went totally un answered. Micheal, to his credit, tried. But he took a week off because his wife was having a baby. I understand that totally. What I do not understand is that they expected me to put my business and clients on hold for that week while the only person that knew the system got back in. That was totally unacceptable and the last straw for me. I took the $200 loss, and asked for a refund. Well, that was 18 days ago, and I still have not seen my money,(over $1000). My clients do not have a website. I dont have any other than my personal one. And I am forced again to wait and deal with the rude and arrogant staff to figure out why it takes 18+ days to send me, via electronic check, my money.

I will never recommend Superb, as I did in the past, and in fact will steer others from it. I am closing my other account as soon as I finish moving it to another host, and will never look back. I hope I actually helped someone, or spoke to someone here. If you have any questions or comments, please reply.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

That sound like a terrible situation

If your bill was $480/month I would recommend that you get a dedicated server. There are many companies that provide the dedicated server with cool managing software, so you would not really need to be an expert in managing the server.

here are two I believe have received good reviews in this forum
catalog.com
ultraspeedusa.com

good luck!

rackspace.com seems to have good reviews also.
