What is the difference with Windows XP Pro & Home Edition?
Win2K last time is really good but could not play some games. Which one to install now?

If you are going to use it mainly for gaming then the home version would be best.
The only thing i could think of right now is XP Pro have the encrypted file system and home does not , other features in Pro are remote desktop, etc...

It read as if only pro had the remote desktop (you lumped it into one line and the questions was, "What is the difference with Windows XP Pro & Home Edition?" Take deep breath...

actually, according to the MS chart, Pro has remote desktop while Home doesn't...
Just thinking, maybe that is just the standard install?

Pro has "remote desktop," which allegedly means that you can have complete control over your desktop from another computer. Both pro and home have "remote assistance," which allegedly means that you can assist another user with his or her computer from a remote computer.
As you might gather, I haven't tried either. I'd guess that the difference is that all remote functions except control panel and other system functions are crippled in home.

DJ... If you want to play games dual boot with 98se and play games on that, then use XP for everything else. Anyone know if you have to be on XP to use the remote desktop etc features? Would be great if you didn't, but you probably do.
