Hi all. New to these forums--
I am the most knowledgeable person in our group to deal with any computer issues, but web hosting specifics are new to me. We are finishing inking up a deal with our web site designer to serve as our technical consultant, both in terms of maintenance of the existing site and also serving as a go-between for us and our 3rd party host.
We are starting with maximumasp but are trying to write the language of our agreement to not be specific to any one host, but just to have minimum standards for any host which they choose (if for some reason it cannot be maximumasp any longer)
So far, these are our specs. Could you let me know if I'm missing anything big?
1) windows 2000 internet info server 5.0
2) 2gb server storage space
3) 100 mb of sql 2000 database storage
4) unlimited email accounts
5) triple-redundant nightly backups
thanks.

It looks good, but I feel it maybe incomplete. Here are some more suggestion:

How fast of a connection you are going to need?
Amount of minimum transfer per month?
Any form of media that needs to be supported ie, ASP, PHP, Perl, Frontpage, Cold Fusion, Real Media, Streaming Multimedia, etc etc.

Nightly backups are a good thing, but what about 24/7 email support or 24/7 server monitoring, in case something goes wrong on site, out of the reach of your tech.

For me the biggest thing would be price. A maximum price cap perhaps. Any host that meets the said requiremnts, but doesn't cost more than say $100 a month.

I wish luck in your venture and as always if you need more help I will be more than happy to assist.
