Hello OpenSRS RSP,

I have a client who wants to transfer his domain to my registrar (registerclub.com) from register.com. However, registerclub.com (reseller for bulkregister.com) cannot initiate the transfer from register.com (it can only transfer from NSI).

Also, if I want to transfer a domain to outside registrar from registerclub.com, the charge is $199, which is

Do you know if OpenSRS can initiate transfer from register.com?

Your help is greatly appreciated :)

Thank you,

Rey

We are an OpenSRS reseller and have transferred names from almost all registrars - including Register.com. So we know it works. (It just usually takes a few tries).

What I don't get is why you can not move a .com from Register.com to BR. NSI is the controlling entity over all .com, nets, and .orgs. Maybe you are trying to transfer a name that was registered before 6/99, in which case, Register.com was a reseller for NS's. So it may still be in their database. This should still not matter, as a transfer approved by the owner should still go through. BR should know where to send the request.

No problem.. I have moved about 15 domains from register.com very easily. The whole process take about 3 to 4 days.

I havent used BR in a while but I remember that was
one of the weird deals with them. The only registrar that
you could transfer from was NSI. Then again BR is an Alabanza
company so Im not totally surprised at the stupid setup!
