Okay, IE6 no longer supports java but css and java is the best combination of DHTML and design. I'm sure very few users would download and install java seperately just to view my site.

So is java yay or nay?

PS I'm posting this because I'm thinking of starting a design biz.

So what should I vote if I like IE but not Java?

I think it does. It's just not automatically installed. If you hit a site that requires Java and you have IE6 it will prompt you to download it.

If there's one thing I hate seeing on a site it's a java applet.

They do have their place ( games etc. ) but for a general web page seeing a big black rectangle squat in the middle of the page for 5 minutes whilst it downloads some huge file, which results is a poncy ripple effect, is a huge turnoff.

IMHO ( with a few exceptions ) it just tells me the author was too lazy to write the effect in Dhtml and just grabbed something free and dumped it in his page.

As I said all IMHO . . .

well java sucks unless it is for panos
I hate java applet nav arghhhhhh
anyway IE6 is kinda sucky for handling classes in CSS as it tries to display it the way it wants its getting a bit to controlitive (is that a word ??) anyway still better than nutscrape
