However, if it is critical and really needs to be up 100% of the time it may be more difficult to find one.

100% uptime is virtually impossible. If you want to come close expect to spend more money than most hosting companies charge.

I think the best uptime you will get bundled with security is about 99.8/99.9

Thats roughly 2 minutes downtime a month... i think...

Reason being is that Security does rely on the server's kernal being upgraded and other such patches, albeit not every month but also there are other security issues that would require rebooting the server...

99.8/99.9 is Definetely above par and pretty standard for a good Host/Network

But The Planet offer 100% uptime. You could try and find a company that has servers there.

What kind of hosting are you looking for? Shared/Reseller/VPS?

And what kind of bandwidth are you after? Post some more specs and people will be able to help suggest a company for you to use more.
