I'm considering buying a RaQ, which will be my first experience with any hosting other than shared.

What I want to know is, other than price, what advantages do RaQs have over other servers?
(ie Why should I buy a RaQ instead of some other kind of server?)

RaQ's are good for "newbees". I have a RaQ. It is extremely simple to setup/use; you can train a monkey to do this (save on your support costs).

I've had good expereince with RaQ 4's; though I don't see too much of a difference. The only problem with RaQs I see is they are limited. I just want to require a user checking their mail to login using username@domain.com instead of requiring them to setup a forwarder.

But out of 10, I give a RaQ an 8. They are relativaly inexpensive to lease and have the least amount of time/effort to setup.

Just my .02.

I have a monkey running my Raq right now. He does a really good job but he often leave little messes on the floor.

Raqs are easy to use and keep ticking away day and night without trouble. They serve the need very well and if you’ve been using hosts thus far, the switch will be very easy. Compared to shared hosting going to a Raqis a 100% or even 1000% leap forward. No one else can slow down your stuff and you have plenty of room.
