Well, I signed up with Eternias (http://eternias.com/) shared hosting about five days ago. They gave me a pretty good plan at a decent price. It wasn't too cheap or too expensive so I thought nothing when they didn't mention any money-back or uptime gaurantees. The second day there was about two hours downtime, but I wasn't worried. I just assumed that it wouldn't happen again. Now at almost 7AM EST I'm going on about the fourteenth straight hour of downtime (since about 5PM EST last night). I'm considering switching, but I know that this guy put a lot of time and effort into creating my custom plan. We had about 25 email conversations over three days (over 100 emails back and forth). He custom installed python for me in less than 24 hours from when I asked and he promised TCL, Real Audio, and Real Video support in the future. He's done a lot to help set me up and he's given me a great plan, but the uptime is terrible. What should I do?

Have you asked him why all this downtime happened?

Can't.
All my email goes through the POP3 and SMTP servers that I have with him.
I can't send him an email until the site is up again, which I just checked and it is finally up so now I will.

I would setup an email address at GMX or HOTMAIL and send him an email quickly.

Already have one with Fastmail.fm (http://fastmail.fm/). The problem is my ISP (Earthlink) blocks port 25, so I can only use Earthlink's SMTP server, which at the moment is also not functioning correctly.

Wow, now I'm even more impressed. :)

The downtime total was somewhere between 15-20 hours and for this they offered to take $15 off my bill this month (normally $65/month). They said that this never happens, it was a first, there was a problem at the noc. Eternias.com never stops amazing me.

What kind of plan do you have for 65.00 a month?
