Is there an ISP in USA, which charges for incoming traffic (somehting that really costs $$$), not for an outgoing traffic?

I haven't heard of such a beast in US.

I know of one in Slovenia but I guess you need *just* US, no European NOCs?

As I said in the other thread, hosting providers do pay for outgoing bandwidth, so you'll have a hard time finding one that will give you outgoing transfer for free when that's something they have to pay for.

It would be great if all the ISP charge for incoming traffic :D

(information only - mods, please move if necessary)

I've posted a few notes over the last few months, not sure whether it was this particuar forum or not, about this. Australia provideds an environment of *true* unlimited outgoing/charged incoming hosting.

We've discussed the possibilities with a few developers/ASP. Bear in mind we can get in beyond the gateway meter and physically move content up online as well, sidestepping the upload charges to a certain degree as well if the purpose of of a box is a dedicated task as opposed to virtual hosting.

There's many possibilites. We're open to discussion with anyone who's seeking bulk storage and bandwidth for streaming, for example.

A few typical scenarios:

- Purchase a raq outright (US$999) and co-locate for a minumum of 6 months at US$99 per month which includes 1Gb of Inbound Traffic and UNLIMITED outbound traffic. (excess incoming, 7c per mb).

- Lease the raq for a minumum of 6 months at US$199 per month which includes 1Gb of Inbound Traffic and UNLIMITED outbound traffic. (excess incoming, 7c per mb).

Each server has access to a password protected web link to view reports at any time. Bandwidth is measured on actual data transfer.

etc etc etc
