I'm having difficulty putting the RaQ550 OS on RaQ4i hardware.

I used the 550 restore CD and let it do what it needed to do and now when the server starts up, it displays "Setting up Web Service" on the LCD screen, and occasionally, it'll go back to the normal display then it will resume showing "Setting up Web Service". It stays like this indefinately. There was a couple times I got the following error "MFG HOOK FAILED".

I did a google for it and found absolutely nothing with no solutions or any useful info about it.

I can get in using telnet, and whenever I try restarting Apache, I get the following error:

Shutting down Web Service: httpd ok
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd: line 3: 25664 Killed $LCD_SWRITE "$LINE
1" "$LINE2" >/dev/null 2>&1
Setting up Web Service: httpdchiliasp: module started, version 3.6.0.33
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd: line 46: 25691 Killed $LCD_SWRITE "$LIN
E1" "$LINE2" >/dev/null 2>&1

Any ideas on how I can at least get this thing where it runs? I'm still new to *nix and I have no clue on where to start fixing the thing or even what is really wrong with it.

Thanks in advance.

Have you flashed your firmware to the 2.9 series or greater? I found some really good info regarding RaQ upgrades here:

Thanks for the link. :) Great info.

Anyways as luck would have it, after I posted this topic, it started working. So I spent the next few hours installing updates but I couldnt install the new kernels. :(

Anyways, No I dont think I have the 2.9 roms... The 550 Restore CD flashed my ROM with something. Not sure of the version though. I have backed it up (current ROM) just in case. ;)

I'll probably plug my RaQ to my UPS while doing the flashing just in case the power hiccups.

I'm looking at the ROMs, and I'm not 100% certian of the ROM to use. I'm looking at this one since I think it is the one that would work on my hardware.

Theres 2 of them I'm looking at:
2.9.34-paged.rom - 1MB
2.9.36-paged.rom - 1MB <-- I think this is the one to use but I'm not sure.

According to the docs at that link, it says that the older machines RaQ4 in my case uses a paged ROM and has a 1MB ROM.

Thoughts?

Thanks again. :)

I went ahead and did 2.9.36-paged.rom and it got rid of the "MFG HOOK FAILED" error after MFG tests.

The machine is now working without error. :)

Hi,

I would do a cmos restore by booting the RaQ with the 'e' button held in and then do another 550 os restore.

It sounds like some of the updates did not install correctly during the os restore and so of the scripts that were used to install patches were not cleaned up correctly at the end.

Take a look at cobalt-developers.1stserv.com/msg13142.html
