Just wondering if this is a problem with my host or not.

I have three domains and private name servers. When I first gave my server info to my registra it came up with an error - they said they fixed it... everything seemed fine.

But occassionally I can't get to one of the sites. But only one. I can't load the page and can't ftp. I can download my mail okay.

My friend - halfway around the world does not seem to have a problem ... so does anyone think this is a host problem? What could be the issue - I really need to fix this as when I can't access it the problem goes for most of the day.

I did recently change to ADSL, I'm not sure if that is the problem

It would be better if you could provide the name of domain names so that we could run a traceroute etc. ;)

I would suggest your friend and yourself to run a traceroute as well.

vivawebmedia dot com is Up (this is the nameserver) - an old site that I should take down but I;m too lazy

Anyway - I have no complaints with my host apart from this - they now say that there is no problem in their side but really I find it incredible that it is just the nameserver that is always up and the other two go intermittently down.....

It looks like you may have some name server issues.

All are working here, I copied some snippets from all three.
