Can anyone recommend a good (graphical) web statistics package? I'm not looking for a $3000 Enterprise solution, but something that will tell my clients how many visitors they get to each page, which photos are the most popular, where people are coming from (links), etc... I currently only have 4 clients with 9 total sites, and a brand new Red Hat Linux box.
Also, any tips/suggestions for implementing this? <g>

Webalizer, at http://www.webalizer.com. It's free, simple to set up and configure, and produces great-looking output.

Nettracker has more stats than all others, we replaced Webtrends which hogged the servers resources

If you want something super easy try thecounter.com it suprisingly gives you a large amount of stats and your customers can sign up for it and install it themselves.

We use webalizer and like it a lot.
I personally like webalizer, but another good option is analog http://www.analog.cx/

I downloaded a binary version of Webalizer, and then downloaded GZip and TAR to try to extract the Webalizer .TGZ file. Now I can't get it to extract! It doesn't work in Windows, so I'm assuming it must be done from a DOS prompt. I opened a DOS window and tried "gzip C:\...webalizer...tgz" (ensuring that the path to the .tgz file is correct) and it keeps saying "no such file or directory." HOW are you supposed to extract/install these TGZ files???

William,
You can use the latest versions of WinZip to extract the tarred/gzipped files - http://www.winzip.com
I usually download the program straight to the server and untar and gzip it there. As it ultimately will be on the server.

For a third party solution, I recommend Webtrendslive http://www.webtrendslive.com . Very detailed reports, and since it's associated and produced by WebTrends, a generally trusted source.
