Hello everyone,

I'd like your opinion about a matter concerning support.

Do you think that it is a good idea to offer clients an 'extended' support option for more money?

For instance,

At the moment my clients get email, helpdesk and voicemail support.

In the future I wish to impliment more support services that will cost my company more money; 24/7 support, call center etc.

Would it be a good idea to charge clients an extra $2.95/month, for instance, to receive these benefits?

Opinions ar emuch appreciate, thanks!

Bolt, this could put clients off, as if say for some reason or another you do not answer a request or something that they have just paid $2.95 for they are going to be serveley piseed to put it straight.

However, this is where brains come in, if you thought $2.95 for a few users for extra support, why not put an extra $1 onto your plans, christ even $2 if needed, and therefore (predictivley) you will have a greater income therefore be viable to offer better support?

What you think, make sense?

Thanks for that.

I've been discussing it with my staff, and they seem to think it is a good idea, but now I'm not too sure either.

Any more opinions, fellas?

Bolt, do you offer limited services, for example:

10 subdomains
100 auto responders

Etc?

Don't worry, I see you do, then send an e-mail to all your clients, stating this:

Dear sir/madam (Or dude, what ever rocks the boat)

We have decided to change our package specifications to unlimited X unlimited Y and unlimited Z, and at only a little extra cost of (PAckage valye plus the extra amount you wish to obatinf rom clients, £1 for example). You are not oblieged to do this, you will not lose support, however your features still stay limited.

Regards

Company name

Then on your website change features to either higher, for little extra cost or unlimited for a little higher than a little extra :P

Stating that they will not lose support, nor lose quality is always a good thing, I haven't a business but thats something I would do.

Let me know if you get me

What a great idea, but I was thinking of setting everything to unlimited anyway.

Clients don't like being limited to their features.

But, it is a good idea and I'll give it some thought.

"I was thinking of setting everything to unlimited anyway."
"Clients don't like being limited to their features."

That says it all, make it out that for only a little extra cost they get unlimited feature

Even state that you will cut the costs in galf (the added costs) to existing clients

I think you should offer AS MUCH SUPPORT AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.

Note: I might be biased here.
