okay, when no-brands offer unlimited data transfer we scrutinize... what about verio?

http://www.verio.com/products/hosting/web/vps/vpsstandard.cfm

anyone tried their VPS yet? is it really no data transfer charges?

Well, the "server usage is too high, get a dedicated or have less processes" comes before the "server is using too much bandwidth" :)

Bandwidth costs money and lots of it. It is probably the largest single fee hosting companies pay for. Beating even salaries.

However, there are ways you can protect yourself when dealing with hosting companies. Negoitiate your contract. Don't forget they want your business but they got to make a living. Be upfront (or you will be moving in a very short time) think in terms of your bandwidth on your best day then go in and have the hosting providers bid for your business. The days of unlimited bandwidth are about over. Typically the companies that are doing that are start ups. Eventually they have to charge for overages which means: You'll be moving.
