I want to change my site search (perl base script) to PHP powered mySQL backend.

Which one is the best out there (site search)?

What about external search that I can add my own categories and links and even search external engine search like e.g Yahoo, google and etc.

I have looked thru hotscripts but I want to know user point of view.
