Domenico 10-26-2001, 08:34 AM Ask the vatican to sponsor you. They have a lot of money including yours. Not to mention the many TV preachers ;-) I believe that for every christian that is registered worldwide money is flowing from the government to the vatican. At least that is the way it goes here in the Netherlands. Off topic? Sorry. It seems that you are looking for a lot of bandwidth here (mp3, forums). XTStrike 10-26-2001, 09:10 AM a church site that will have mp3 and msgboard and bandwidth? damn what are you running here the church of england web site? lol id have hosted it for you for free if it were static but it looks like you are going to have to tap into someones religius side to get this thing running. :D good luck in your ventures I wish you the best. Maybe using one of the varuious free hosts in exchange for advertisements on the site? until it becomes popular ssjbrex 10-26-2001, 04:59 PM well, i would, but theres one thing, some catholic, and protestant belief dont mix i dont got a problem, but still, its a forusquare (pentacost) church, anyone, ?? MindPhaze 10-28-2001, 04:12 AM You can try http://www.christianwebhost.com . My friend uses them for his site and he says they are good. I set one up for my church, which is pretty big. I would strongly advise against the bulletin board system. There are quite a few of computer illiterate people at my church, and a complicated bulletin board system intimidatates them. Therefore, it may only be used by a couple people at your church. Also, some knucklehead might come across and post something obscene on the board that some old lady sees and won't be able to understand why it is there... And blame you. And believe me, it will be hard to explain to the old lady :) . As for mp3s, (I'm supposing you are recording the sermons?) I've hosted some church sites and it seems like their mp3s are downloaded often, so thats a good idea. Hope this helps ;) rockergrrl 10-29-2001, 12:32 PM And recording the sermon, at least one ones that our pastor has, would take lots of webspace and bandwidth... (our pastor goes on for over 1/2 hour)... Maybe ask your pastor when it comes timg for the offering to ask for some extra money for the collection plate to help out with real hosting... I would have no problem hosting your site, if you didn't have the bulletin board and the MP3s... A regular website wouldn't take up a lot of space and bandwidth... but one with a bulletin board and MP3 (mostly those) would take up lots... Tonya |
