My site's been down for almost 36 hours, and I've e-mailed my host, Eagle Web, like 4-5 times already with no response. Plus, their site is down too. What should I do?

1. Should I transfer to another host already? I can't afford any more downtime...

2. Wait for them to go back up and set things straight with them before I transfer?

But what worries me is what if they never go back up? Will they continue to bill me forever? They have an automatic monthly billing system... ;_;

If you can't afford any more downtime, then you should immediately start getting setup with a different provider. Most providers can have your account ready to go very quickly, and after that, the only things you need to do are uploading your site, and changing the DNS information on your domain name. Depending on where you registered your domain name, that change could take up to 48 hours to go through, so this is why you need to immediately start the process.

But, there is no reason at all to wait around for your current provider. If they come back up soon, then great, your site will be back up soon, and within 2 days, you'll be on a new provider anyhow, and not have to worry about future incidents like this (hopefully). Otherwise, waiting around will not do any good, except cause you even more downtime if they don't come back up.
