Came up n conversation with a friend today. She says one of the benefits offered by her employer is that for a mere $20/month she has access to lawyers to do just about anything she needs: wills, trusts, general advice, etc. This intrigued me, so I head off to Google and find. . .

They're a little more than $20/month, but still quite reasonable. Plus, there must be others out there with the same idea. Definitely appears cheaper than the shark I use (Vinny Boombatz of Hoboken) and they probably won't break my legs if I'm late on a payment. :D

Anyhow, thought this would be interesting to pass along.

(I'm not affiliated in any way with the above URL. It might upset Vinny.)

I think this would be very good for small businesses... But how far does this coverage go?

It would be nice to be able to pay $30 or so and never have to worry about legal charges if you get into a mess... Somehow I think they would have to draw the line somewhere...

I had one some years ago, pretty much as a trial issue.

Yes, there are limits, but it can be worhwile. From what I can remember, the plan I had for $20-30 / month included things like, contract review (up to so many pages) one or two letters on letterhead (sometimes worth it right there) review of your current liabilities, so much time by phone per month, etc.

Not bad.

But, keep in mind, depending on the company and plan you go with, you might not get the attorney you want. Some of them "round robbin" to the next available attorney, or so I think.

But for your basic stuff, especially if you are starting out, it' s not bad if you actually use it. My two cents :)

I've dealt with one recently helping a neighbor of mine and they don't offer much beyond simple stuff like writing letter or pushing corporation regitration thru. I'd rather keep an attorney on retainer which might cost you about 100-150 bucks, that way I can call him/her anytime day or night :) to solve my problems. Depending on the deal you work out with your attorney $100 bucks a month could buy you unlimited services including representation in court.
