Be sympathetic when you read this post. I may need a little longer lines to explain my problem. And this is not to blame any webhost but to find any good solution to my problem.

I have a small ecards script which relies on send mail function of php - the script itself is small, writes data to a simple text file and in no way a resource hogger - also traffic to my site is quite small. But however I need the script up and running 100% for two important socio-religious occasions locally ( in an Asian country) for a few days in Oct and a few days in Apr - these times are a must for me (though obviously I need my ecards and email notifications associated with it thru' out the year - as much uptime as possible). The send mail for php failing for even one hour in these 4 or 5 days is a great fall in % performance and reliability of my site while the entire site may be up an running for the rest of the 360 days.

Now there are two types of failure of send mail of php -
[I]one is it shows up an error message.
[II]The other is it does not show any error - shows "email notification for ecard sent" BUT in the background it does NOT send the mail actually - this is most deceptive and damaging since the sender has no idea that his/her ecard is never going to reach. This is where I prefer that the site goes down in entireity rather than this hidden nonfunction becoz if the site is down the sender wil obviously try after sometime to come back and send

I am hosted with terabyte but due to every1 MX changes somehow the script dont send mails to my own domain but to all others. So to have the problem bypassed I got another extra host but they had also severe problems. Still having those two accounts, finally I signed up with tina but there also today problem started first I was having the type [I] - that is error message and non-sending of mail - after sometime the error message disappeared and the type[II] started - that is no error message but it was NOT sending the mails in the background though on screen obviously the script showed "thank u - ur msg sent". Obviously this kept the sender confused as towhat happened - why the recepient never got his card.

When I wrote them tina was VERY prompt ( less than 10 to 15 minutes) to reply after I detected the problem and apparently the problem is no more now.I have NO complaint against them as some sort of "down" thingies can happen even with 99.99% guarantees.Thats ok.I maintain that they are undoubtedly a VERY good host ( at a very reasonable price too)

However if you have read the initial lines of this post you know that I cannot afford this even for a hour ( particularly the deceptive type II ) for this month of Oct and Nov and April.

** Do you have any idea whether any shared host can guarantee the above to me for these 3 months of a year even at some extra charge
** Ded server is not exactly suited for my pocket but do they guarantee this sort of stuff
** do you have any script or any idea that can notify if php send mail is failing on a cellphone so that I can turn the face of the card index files to another working server at another webhost temporarily ?
** do any of you ever face such problem ? what do you do in such cases ( apart from being mad at urself or mediatate most calmly)?
** btw I am hearing about f5hosting on these boards - how is their send mail for php ? any other host that goes down in entirety but does not fail isolated on sendmail php ( partculrly type II stuff)

Thanks for taking your time to read this post.Regards .
