My only comment about this is that any job you decide to undertake, you treat it as if it were a paid job. That means no, "If I feel like it" or "since it's free you cant complain". If you are going to get in the business of web design and graphic design, you need practice in dealing with customers who are demanding (will complain), set time schedules to follow, etc. Having a great portfolio is only *one* of a few things you need practice in to be successful.

if you want to do it for fun do your own stuff ?????

now if they know %100 upfront (which it sounds like) then well they are a fool for doing so (in my opinion)
again design to me is not something you just wake up and say hmmmm I am going to get ito deisgn

we do not make as much as programers we do not get as many job offers
so know this if you are thinking of getting much money from it
you do it because you have this need to do it ???

maannn......i was just massing around, anyways, i'm just bored...and i just want to get more practice at graphic design. And how can i be the kind of people that give web designers a bad name? B/c i have nothin in mind. So helping others isnt that bad of a thing, right? :D

as I ssaid it sounds like you are being %100 upfront ;)
so the reason it can happen
peoples expectations get all screwed up
you can be upfront with them but for some reason they think I had this web designer guy do this job and he was lousy he was always late etc....
so it would not be on your end it would be on the endusers end (the person you are doing the job for)
so sorry if it came across harsh was nto trying to ;)

its tough I have been making my living doing web stuff for 6 years now and am doing great I just run across alot of people that have had probs and they bring it up ;)

if you are in the creating mood do your own super cool sites and have fun with it find something you are into and give back to that by doing a cool site ;)
you will be much more motivated (as Chicken said people will complain)
so this way no one bitches at you ;)
trust me even for free people will bitch ???

anyway get a domain and have soem fun ;)

yeah, i'm waiting for aletia to setup my site for me, i made about 20 wallpapers while i was with hostiva, but now they sux, so i swiching to aletia.
