View Full Version : anyone spot the $49 dedicated ad on the top of this forum?
aqi32 03-02-2004, 04:23 PM hey guys,
yesterday or the day before i saw a $49 dedicated server provider's ad in the banner, trouble is i had already clicked a link when i noticed it and now i can't get it again, anyone see it?
it wasn't servers4u.
always curious about these really cheap ones, be good as a backup/storage :)
Kimmikat 03-02-2004, 04:36 PM You can try refreshing the page til it shows up again. Recently a banner caught my interest and missed it, so I did that trick til it was back...
aqi32 03-02-2004, 04:40 PM yeah i've just been doing that but can't seem to get it, i wonder how long it was meant to run for?
meanwhile i'll keep refreshing :)
No I haven't. I blocked the iFrame all together. :D Same with the "Premium" member icons. I'm going to start working on getting rid of the iNet bar next.
Joseph_M 03-02-2004, 05:00 PM Was it OKServers.com perchance?

I have gotten rid of the iNet bar, with the images and dropdowns, I now just have a thick white spot there, still looking to rid that..
obviousl 03-02-2004, 09:50 PM http://www.visionexcomm.com/
this is the url that the banner points to.
Chris
That is for server management. Not for the actual servers. :D :D
pubenemy 03-02-2004, 09:56 PM That looks to me just like a server management service for $49? the visionexcomm...
ilyash 03-02-2004, 10:28 PM how did you guys get rid of the bars and of the inet banner?
[just interested]
We don't use an inferior browser. :)
creepcolony 03-02-2004, 11:35 PM you know, people only look at banners when they click on a link and are waiting for the page to load. by the time they try to click on the banner, the page is done loading and the banner is gone
I would have left the banners because I don't mind them at all. Only reason why I did is to test the feature. I just don't have any will to remove the block. Main reason why I installed the extension is because of the "Premium Member" graphic which gave me premium headaches. :bawling:

How? I've only managed to rid of the bar, the background of the bar, and banners. I still have drop downs. Using FFox 0.8 w/ Adblock extention.
I'm glad that I have helped so many people remove the distractions. :) There was this one extension that would remove any abject from a webpage. Only remained for one session though. I e-mailed the author and never heard back from him even though it has been over a week. :(

Yes, yes, thank you. :D
Yah, Nuke Anything (or something like it) is a good one, but I didnt like how it wasn't permanent.

Just add these urls to your filters. I don't know exactly which one did it but those are all the ones that clean this site right up :)
