It seems that Worldcom is now training their sales reps to send out unsolicited e-mail pitches.
Anyone else getting unsolicted offers from this fine organization?

I think you will be seeing more and more large and small companies resorting to email or anything else that they feel will help them gain more business. I am sure there are Sprint, AT&T and many other business reps doing the same and I am not sure it is even company sponsored. These reps live on commission and they will do anything to put money in their pocket even if the boss does not approve.
I have just come to the conclusion that spam and unsolicited email will always be a fact of life and if I do not want to read it I just delete the message and move on.

I've worked for several Tier 1 providers over the past few years, and I have realized that most companies do have some type of "No Spam" rule hidden in the back pages in the HR handbook which 95% of the employees don't know about.
When I started in this industry I blindly thought it was perfectly fine to shoot out unsolicited emails and even at one point was encouraged to (the first company I worked for even told us to make up an E-missle). Until I had a CEO from a well established webhosting company call me back after he received one of my messages and explain that this wasn't a good business practice and that he would not do business with anyone who conducted business by spamming.
I congradulated him on being honest and straight forward with me and vowed not to do anymore unsolicited emails (which has brought me more business than by sending out emails to everyone).
So in conclusion I think that there are plenty of sales reps out there who don't think that there is anything wrong with spam(just look at how much spam I get at home on AOL, I just get used to it) not because they are trying to be rude, but because they don't understand that the hassle it creates to the receiver in question.
