I also would like to know some of your feedback. I am currently with BURSTNET, and thier network hasent been to stable for the past couple days, going up and down. I also was looking for a new server anyway. Your information would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Well, if you just started a webhosting company or your a newbie, I would defeinitly recommend you go for managed, otherwise: NO!

Try going for servermatrix or nocster if your experienced and want real quality servers...

at managed, you get what you pay for.

There's been a lot of threads going around about managed.com's service and servers. If you want to know more about them, use the search button! :)

well, I manage a few servers for a development project and we have a web dev box with managed and overall i cant complain - uptime is good - had a couple of bad weekends but its stable. Network seems to be kicking *** on Burst and FDC atm among others. Only real issue I have is the 100mb server seems to be capped at 1mbps. Out of 6 servers we have access to not one can manage (lol) better than 1.2mbps to anywhere except HE in California. Either they have some peering agreements for less than 100mb or theres some weird routing crap going on . Maybe HE is on a direct line with them and they really are capping everyone. It's enough for us to be cancellin gour dev servers after this month and join the big migration away from MC.

Hi

As others mentioned before use the search button and read some of previous reviews about managed. Managed is a budget provider and you get what you paid for most of the time. Although there have been one or two good reviews the majority have been bad.

So if your getting a server for personal use you might want to try them out but if its for business use I wudn't trust them based on my previous experiences.

And, yes Server Matrix does offer Cpanel. Another place you might want to have a look at is Gnax.com depending on your budget.

Good Luck!

They are not as bad as some people would have you believe on this forum, granted they are not perfect, but so far I certainly do not feel cheated by paying $85/mo for a P4. Uptime is good, and the network speeds are excellent - upwards of 4MB/s is common for me.

You'd probably get better service from Servermatrix or EV1, but then you would be paying ~50% more per month for a similar spec machine. It all depends on your budget, and whether you're willing to give them a go; nobody can predict the future .. look at the events that just transpired at Nocster!

When I first rented my servers from managed.com, I could safely say it was hell. Downtime everyweek for dinner and packetloss as a topping. But until recently, I must say, managed.com has been preforming. No considerable downtime that I have seen. Maybe they got their act together...
