I know i am not a Mod but this MOTM thing hasn't really happened for 2 months so i thought i'd get out the jump leads and bring it back to life. If you Mods have a problem with that then do tell me and i'm sure you'll act as necessary.

_______________

So WHTers, which person among us has entertained you or helped you or enlightened you to the extent that they should be up for Member of the Month? Remember you can nominate a maximum of 3 per month and i'm sure you can all think of at least one.

Here's the small print detail >>

Each month, we (participating members of the community) get together and nominate members we think should be acknowledged. The members do not have to be hosts, they may be customers also. It is a two part process - nominations and voting. The 5 members with the highest number of nominations will go on to the final voting, from which we will vote on the one member we think should be acknowledge as the Member of the Month for that given month. This member will receive the prize announced and (thanks to Reptilian Feline) a "certificate" that will be posted on WHT. Prizes come from donations by the community so please donate :).

Below are the rules for December 2003.

These rules will be posted in every nomination thread as they are subject to change from month to month:

- Members may not nominate themselves.
- Members are allowed to make only three nominations per month.
- Only members who have registered prior to the given month are eligible. (Registered Date Must be November 30th, or earlier.
- Community Leaders and Community Liaisons are not eligible
- Members who have won in the previously in the same year (2002 excluded) are not eligible for nomination in the current month. Currently, this includes , Incognito (November) blue27(October), Aussie Bob (September, tied), UmBillyCord (September, tied) Deb (August), DarktidesNet (July), Akashik(June), Coach (May), Chicken(April), SoftWareRevue(March), Vito(February), Yupapa(January, tied) and UH-Matt(January, tied).
- In the event of a tie, no prize will be issued.
- Nominations will normally begin on the final Wednesday of a month, and end 7 days thereafter, or when the nomination thread is closed (whichever comes first).
- Voting will begin on the day after the nomination period ends, and will last for 7 days, or when the poll is closed (whichever comes first).
- A Nomination must include the following:
+ MemberName with link to profile
+ Reason for nomination (and not just (s)he makes me laugh)
+ (optional) link to specific post(s)/thread(s) that are worth mentioning.

That being said, let's get on to prize information :)

If you would like to donate a prize or give me ideas for prizes, please PM or email me.

Note to previous winners: I'll try to get you you're prizes later this month :)

If you would like to donate to the MOTM Fund, please click here to go to the PayPal Donation screen. (https://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=akashd84%40hotmail.com&item_name=WebHostingTalk+Member+Of+The+Month+Fund&amount=1.00&no_shipping=1&no_note=1&tax=0&currency_code=USD)

If you'd like to donate more than $1 please contact me :)
-----------------------------------------------------------

Now that's all outta the way....on with the nominations :D

Note: The Owners/Other Moderators/Administrators of WHT are in no involved in this. This is being coordinated by me, with the help of other forum members, in an effort to improve the quality of the community and give recognition where it is deserved. If you have any problems/questions/concerns, please email or PM me :)

Good Luck :gthumb:

WHTers, was last month really that dull and self centered? I'll get the ball rolling.

2 worthy nominees that spring to my mind right now are:

timechange.com
TheDoctor

Maybe instead of iron on logo T-Shirts [well they're probably iron on] and such they [the powers that be/iNet] could manufacture some kind of bronze as i doubt we can go for Gold WHT MOTM statue thingy with a name and month on it.

Artashes gets my nomination - I wanted to nominate Vito as well but I know he will get upset because his modesty is overwhelming :D

I'm going to have to vote for AffordableHost. She's been a great help to the community providing great answers to many hosts that are just beginning, as well as just helping out other WHT users.

Good idea, Critic. Take charge and save the MOTM tradition! :agree:

As for nominations, it is going to be very hard to do. So many great people who take this community fairly for what it is, never complain and just do good every day.

- Tina (AffordableHost) has been wonderful last month, a very honest and helpful member always striving to help with good advice.
- TimeChange for keeping us all informed of all the important news we can't ignore and putting his valuable opinion on the table.
- TheProhacker for working too much day after day so we can all benefit from always improving forum's environment and functionality. You are an awesome coder!
- DeathNova. Anyone who is familiar with Jeffrey's posts know just how knowledgable and wise this person is. He knows the business theory so well that all his advice should be taken very seriously (I try to keep up with it all the time). Great going, Jeff. Keep it up as you're my next vote.

But I think it would be very fair to nominate Vito (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=9335) for the wonderful gathering he organized in Toronto in the month of February for WHT members. I know the difference between saying "Let's get together for some drinks" and actually making sure people show up is huge, and for that Vito gets my vote for the MOTM FEBRUARY 2004.

Best,

- Members who have won in the previously in the same year

I don't think we had a January winner so does that mean everybody is eligible or is last years winner excluded.

Thanks Critic :) Let's just put this on hold for a few days until we come up with the the criteria for a new year. For instance, do last year's winners count? Last six months? Prizes etc.

On a side note, nobody noticed, (or at least mentioned it to my knowledge) that it was "missing" in January until blue27 mentioned it fairly late in the month.
