Hi im thinking of getting a RaQ from Rackshack and installing either Cpanel or Plesk depending on price. I cant aford this on my own but split two ways would be manageable. Is anyone looking to share a server with Cpanel or Plesk with about 10gb HD each and about 300gb Bandwith?

Kind Regards
Ben

Is Cpanel or Plesk allowed to be installed onto a RAQ ? RAQ uses a modified version of linux. Not sure if you can do that. But I do not recommend getting a raq, it cannot handle heavy tasks much.

Hi,

I was todl that Cpanel and Plesk could both be installed on a RaQ. Too be honest i just like the price of a RaQ.

Kind Regards

Ive been told by a lot of peeps on this forum that you CANNOT use those two products with RAQ4i [i am presuming you are talking about a rackshack.net 300gb/month raq4i deal]

It does suck :(

Cobalt has a propriatery operating system that uses a flavor of Linux, Cobalt Linux. Plesk and Cpanel both as I know it, don't utilize Cobalt OS. You might want to switch you hardware :)

A Raq is not a normal server. It is basically a server APPLIANCE. You don't want to alter the server since it was built specifically FOR the Cobalt GUI. The server specs aren't anything special, in fact, they suck, but the main fact is the Cobalt GUI was built around it and you can manage 99% of the server with it. For someone who needs an easy server or is learning, its the way to go.
