Sandisk is not open on Saturdays so this is my best option. I was just at Costco today and I bought a "Sandisk Mini-Cruzer 256MB" model "SDCZ2-256".

I plugged it into my USB port to test if it works, it flashed a green light at first, then went off. I got an icon in my system tray saying the device is not reconized and that it may be broken. I have a WinXP Pro machine and it should come up like my CF card reader does. (Yes the ports work. I also tried mutiple ports.) I took it to a WinXP Home machine and it worked fine, and to another WinXP Pro machine, and it works fine there too. Just not on my system. There are no WinXP drivers on their site because it should work automatically on WinXP...

What do you think is wrong? :bawling:

If it's working on multiple other computers, that would almost imply that there is an issue with the computer you initially tried it on. Maybe the builtin Windows XP drivers are missing for some reason?

As a side note, that's a handy memory stick. I got one a couple of months ago and it's been VERY useful for moving data between computers that can't be directly connected or for storing wireless LAN settings.

I wish I could give you better help, but...

Sorry for the late post, Just got back from some friends. :)

I went into the bios and changed the USB from 1.1+2.0 to just 1.1 (Even though I have 2.0 USB in both front and back) and it worked. So much for "High Speed".
