Does anyone here offer FREE and PAID hosting like hypermart?
I would like to know if people who use your free service eventually end up buying your paid plans.
Thanks

I'm not experienced enough with this to give percentages but I can say that yes, free customers will become paying customers like with almost any service.
I would suggest putting a lot of thought and planning into something like this though.

This is a marketing issue.....
If a company offer FREE hosting at all, there's got to be SOME way for that company to make money. Maybe it's advertising on your sites, maybe the free accounts are "stripped-down" and they are hopeful that you'll upgrade to a paid plan.... whatever it is, company's are in business to make money.
Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I am starting a company that offers free and paid hosting... I am just new and I havn't actually launched yet, but I have one "free" customer that has actually blended his account into a half free/half paid service because he has a high traffic site. So from my standpoint the answer is, somewhat.. yes.
Like what was said earlier though, there is always some revenue creation behind the free side of things... unless the company is a not profit organization and they have some outside funding...
Hope this helps...
Mike.
