man i'm lost

i want to use world pay, but each time a reseller adds an account i need to bill them.

world pay does not pass along the cc info during processing.

so when a reseller adds an account how would one bill it?

is it not illegal to input anothers persons cc if i asked the reseller for it?

or do you make the reseller go to a reseller area and enter their info for each account they add
?
seems like the only way....

gracias

Would partnering with Miva Corporation advance my hosting business? I'm very close on signing the partnership although their partner start up fee is quite a huge amount.

Hi,

I think worldpay issue you your own merchant id, otherwise its not possible that your name appear on your clients cc statement. If they issue you your own mid then i guess you can enter transactions manually. But i would ask them first.

Asher.

I wouldnt bother contacting WorldPay to answer your questions. We have been with them since our business opened and we have had an extremely half assed service from them. To start with we signed up and never recieved any information telling us our account had been activated. A few phone calls to singapore, the UK and then the USA and a couple of weeks later we were set up. They then neglected to give us any information on how to use the service.. another 1 week later we recieved the information. We have been waiting for our payment to come through for almost 3 months now. They are supposed to hold onto it for 4 weeks, fair enough. We recieved an email telling us we the funds would be tranferred and have yet to recieve a responce from our many more calls to singapore, UK and USA. All they can say is they will look into it. We have recently asked for Amex support. They gave us the run around. We had to contact Amex in the USA and obtain a merchant ID as stated by the worldpay staff. We then found out after many phone calls overseas and a lot of waisted money that we needed to call the office in australia. Fine with us. They said it would be about 4 days for them to send out a rep from sydney, GREAT! So, appointment was made. We then recieved an email from WorldPay saying all we needed to do was sign a document, and once done we would recieve information on how to incorporate Amex into our service.. we are still waiting. I don't mean to scare people away from this service but just state our experience. I hope knowone else has to experience this, it really blows goat balls.

My understanding (which admittedly could be faulty) of the legalities of charging someone's cc automatically (as in, you input their number, not them) is as follows:

1. You must be a merchant. You can't use a third-party payment system (PayPal, whatever).

2. You must make the client fill out a form, first, giving all the necessary information (cc number, address, etc.) then have them AGREE to allow you to charge their cc in the future.

I just thought I'd add that to the discussion since it is relevant to the very first post, though we have since canned WorldPay (with very colorful farm metaphors, I noticed).

Also, I usually tack setup fees on to the following month's bill. Saves processing and fees. May not be the best way, though, as you might get cheated if they don't pay the following month.

Not sure about the 50K per month in sales thing, but yes, WorldPay does offer a virtual terminal called WorldAccess, an extension to WorldDirect.

Just to clarify:
Worldpay is not a 3rd party processor.
It is a payment gateway.
If you do not have a merchant account they will help you apply for one.
In the UK this is through National Westminster Bank.
However, you need company accounts to prove you have nough cash to sustain one months worth of trading charged back if the worst happens.

Its a much more complex application procedure than something like Instabill.
