i am using raq3 server and i would like to disable anonymous ftp for the security reason. however, i can't find it anywhere in the admin control panel.

i saw in a post someone mentioned that we can disable ftp/telnet in the control panel and enable ftp/telnet for a user using a command in telnet ... but i can't seem to find that post ... can someone please tell me the command both enable and disable ftp and telnet.

thanks a lot in advance for your help :)

Are you the server admin? If so, then:

1) Log into the server admin CP
2) Click on green wrench (to right of site)
3) 4th left link is FTP Settings (click)
4) Uncheck On, allow
5) Save Changes.

This is on a 4r, so if something isn't there, look under Site Settings instead of FTP Settings

very weird all the anonymous FTP seems to be uncheck ... but i am getting report from logcheck that someone/hacker is trying to log-in using anonymous ... will they able to hack in if only the anonymous ftp is uncheck or i have to disable FTP?

Yeah, logcheck is really annoying in that way. It will report if anyone (or very likely a script) is attempting, which I used to get all the time. Your home computer is scanned as often I'd guess and it wasn't something that I worried about too much, though if you keep track of the IPs then you could deny them.
